Aidan Todd is a composer, teacher, producer, and drummer based in Boston. He captures a joyful, eclectic, and haunting atmosphere within his work, with his unique style rooted in an amalgam of impressionistic, orchestral, folk, and jazz traditions. He believes that music acts as the greatest catalyst for connection, inspiration, and creativity, especially as it relates to storytelling.
Born and raised outside Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Aidan’s love of music and creativity was fostered from a young age. He began taking drum lessons in elementary school, continuing in play in his school’s band, orchestra, jazz ensemble, drum line, percussion ensemble, and musical theater pit through his primary education. For him, playing and recording in bands became a driving force for community and connection.
He graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a degree in Contemporary Writing and Production with a minor in Game and Interactive Media Scoring. While in school, he began collaborating with other creators, working on his first major video game release, 2023’s Echo of the Last Light, with Utah based development team, Fat Bear Society.
As a composer, his influences include the works of Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, Koji Kondo, Joe Hisaishi and the worlds of Studio Ghibli, as well as the rich history of the Great American Songbook. In his own works, he is known for his memorable melodies, striking harmonies, and lush textures. As a session drummer, his influences include the works of Bernard Purdie, Steve Gadd, Max Roach, Bill Bruford, John Bonham, and the drumming of Motown, Soul, Jazz, and Funk.
He now works as a composer, producer, sound designer, pianist, session drummer, and educator, and is always looking for new projects, whether that be writing soundtracks to video games & films & advertising & TV, playing and performing as a session musician, or collaborating with artists as a composer, producer, or song writer. Outside of his work, he loves hiking, outdoor exploration, frogs, taking care of his houseplants, and learning about the world and its many diverse cultures. He currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
